Why your Frigidaire ice maker is not working
Every Frigidaire ice maker needs the same three things to run: a freezer cold enough to freeze a batch, clean water reaching the mold, and a working assembly to eject and refill. When ice stops, one of those three has broken. The trick is checking them from cheapest to hardest, so you don’t pull the fridge out for a problem the on/off switch could have solved.
Frigidaire has used a couple of designs. Older top-freezer and side-by-side models use a modular icemaker with a wire feeler arm, the bar that swings up and down. Make sure the ice maker is actually turned on

Check the water filter first, the most common Frigidaire cause
This is the step most people skip. Frigidaire refrigerators run incoming water through a PureSource filter, and a clogged or wrong filter starves the ice maker of flow.
Frigidaire recommends a fresh filter about every six months. Past that, sediment builds and the trickle reaching the mold drops below what it needs for a full cube. Look for a frozen fill tube
The fill tube is the small plastic line that carries water to the ice maker mold. On Frigidaire units it freezes over when a slow drip or a weak valve lets water sit and refreeze between cycles.
When the tube ices up, the next fill has nowhere to go, so the mold stays empty. You can sometimes spot a plug of ice at the tube’s end near the ice maker.
Thaw it carefully. Unplug the fridge, aim a hair dryer on low at the tube, or rest a cup of warm water under it and let it melt. Don’t chip at it with anything metal, since the tube and the mold scratch easily. If the tube refreezes within a day or two, the real fault sits upstream at the water valve.
Trace the water line and inlet valve
If the mold stays dry and the filter is fine, the water isn’t getting there. Two things upstream cause that.
The supply line behind the fridge can kink, and the saddle or shutoff valve where it taps the house plumbing can be half closed. Pull the fridge out gently and confirm the line is straight and the valve is fully open. Low household water pressure can also starve the ice maker, since Frigidaire valves need adequate pressure to open fully.
The water inlet valve is the electric solenoid at the back of the fridge that opens on each fill. When it fails, it either won’t open at all, so no water reaches the mold, or it won’t seal shut, so it drips and refreezes that fill tube. Testing it means checking for voltage at the valve during a fill and confirming supply pressure. That step gets into the back panel and live connections, so it’s the line where a lot of homeowners hand it off.
Test the ice maker assembly and auger
