Can you remove and dispose of my old appliance?

Request haul-away during intake. Availability and price depend on the matched provider and appliance; refrigerant-containing units require appropriate handling, which the provider must confirm.

Is installation needed for a freestanding refrigerator?

Technically no, you can plug it in. But leveling matters (for door seals and ice maker drainage), and the water line needs a proper compression fitting or braided supply line to avoid slow leaks behind the fridge. A proper install is cheap insurance against both.
